Amsterdame dar XV amžiuje ant vienos katedros buvo iškaltas užrašas: ”Yra taip, kaip yra. Todėl negali būti kitaip.”
Tai suprato valdininkai, organizacijos ir miesto aktyvioji bendruomenės dalis. Asociacija „Mano miestas Klaipėda“ gyvena, vystosi ir įgauna vis didesnę reikšmę miesto gyvenime.
Kas skaito pirmąjį mano laišką ir nėra gyvenęs mūsų mintimis tuos 11 mėnesių, kuriuos jau veikia asociacija, galbūt bando suvokti, kokią reikšmę ir svaresnę vietą gali užimti viešoji nevyriausybinė įstaiga. Visada reikėtų pažiūrėti į organizacijos vidų, kokie žmonės susibūrę joje. Reikėtų pažiūrėti ir praeito laikotarpio darbus ir veiklą, reikia paskaityti veikiančios organizacijos tikslus ir siekius. Be viso šito svarbu tai, kaip vertina mus bendruomenė? Šiandien galiu drąsiai teigti, jog viduje susibūrę aktyvūs miesto bendruomenės nariai, darbuojasi miesto labui niekieno neraginami ir vis didina apsukas. Darbo grupės veikia autonomiškai, grupių vadovai formuluoja užduotis ir siekia užsibrėžtų tikslų. Giliausiu mano įsitikinimu, žmonės yra vidinis organizacijos užtaisas. Darbo grupės, asociacijoje atsirandantys lyderiai, buriantys aplink save žmones, formuoja svarbaus tolimesnio asociacijos kelio tąsą.
Ir yra taip, kaip yra. Nieko niekas nebepakeis. Mes jau ne tik esame, mes įtakojame bendruomenės gyvenimą, buriame lyderius kilniam reikalui – esminiams miesto pokyčiams. Kitaip negali būti vien todėl, kad šita energija kyla iš neabejingų žmonių, kurie savo mylimą miestą mato kitokį, be populizmo ir be skambių šūkių. Jie mato atsakingus valdininkus, sąžiningus politikus, sėkmingai mieste dirbančius verslininkus, pakankamai gerai uždirbančius ir normaliai pragyvenančius miestiečius.
Baigiantis mano metų asociacijos vadovavimo kadencijai, nuotaika – labai pakili. Mažiausia porą mėnesių organizacija veikia be mano stumtelėjimo. Ji veikia savarankiškai: asociacijos nariai ir lyderiai tvarkosi ir kas savaitę inicijuoja naujus gerus darbus Klaipėdai.
