Eilinį kartą buvau susitikęs su kandidatu į mūsų asociacijos narius. Valandą bendravome apie tai, ką mes veikiame, ko siekiame, kuo tikime. Jau gana gerai pavyksta perteikti tai, kas svarbiausia, bet valandos tam apibrėžti vistiek reikia. Po beveik penkiasdešimties veiklos dienų tai daryti jau žymiai paprasčiau. Jau galima pristatyti, ką esame nuveikę, konkrečiau papasakoti apie planus. Su pirmaisiais asociacijos nariais, kuriems pasakojau apie asociacijos idėją, buvome gana seniai pažystami. Todėl dėstyti susibūrimo prasmę buvo lengva. Jie pažinojo mane kaip asmenį, bet nebuvo organizacijos, jokios struktūros, narių, istatų, pavadinimo, vizijos. Dabar tai jau yra, bet nauji žmonės manęs nepažysta. Malonu, kad jie tiki tuo, ką išgirsta ir noriai prisijungia. Prisijungia todėl, kad tokia asociacija Klaipėdai tikrai reikalinga. Ir viltis, kad mieste yra neabejingų piliečių, pasiteisino. Aš tikiu, kad jie laukia ir stebi mūsų asociacijos darbą. Ir kuo daugiau gabių ir protingų klaipėdiečių prisijungs prie mūsų, tuo miestui bus geriau. Ar viskas išsispręs, ar asociacija bus reikalinga po 5, 10, 15 metų? Tikrai bus reikalinga, nes sukurti rojaus neįmanoma, o spręstinų klausimų visada atsiras. Tačiau turėti geresnį gyvenimą, parkus, skverus, lojalius valdininkus ir nuostabius pastatus tikrai galime.
Šiandien viena protinga ir išsilavinusi moteris, kandidatė į mūsų narius, paklausė manęs, ar aš nebijau spaudimo, nusivylimo jeigu kas nors nepavyks. Tikrai nebijau nusivylimo, žinau, kad bus visko: netikrų rašliavų, plakimo ir galimai menamo asmeninio intereso. Kai kam gal ir sunku suvokti, kad tai, ko mes siekiame kartu su komanda yra tik vardan miesto. Sunkiai suvokiama ir tai, ką valdinininkai yra pasakę - ”ko gi norėti, juk tai – pramoninis miestas”. Aš nesutinku su tuo, ir jūs, manau, taip pat. Mes galime turėti žymiai daugiau. Mes esame gražiame mieste, ir jis gali turėti piliečių savivaldą, su sau būdingomis taisyklėmis. Galime nusistatyti taisykles sau ir jų laikytis. Kaip aš matau mūsų savivaldybę? Tai pirmiausia ya paslaugas miestiečiams teikianti vieta. Prilyginkime ją kad ir trijų žvaigždučių viešbučiui, kuriame valdininkai – patarnautojai, gaunantys atlyginimus ir nuoširdžiai suteikiantys paslaugas. Greitai, paslaugiai ir kokybiškai. Juk negalėtume įsivaizduoti viešbučio, kur laukiame eilėje apsigyventi, nepriimami mūsų dokumentai arba reikia duoti dovanų, kad gautum paslaugą. Kol kas taip nėra mūsų savivaldybėje, bet šis pastatas privalo tapti penkių žvaidždučių viešbučiu ir tai priklauso nuo jūsų, mieli skaitytojai. Norėdami turėti mieste kitokią tvarką, turime kažkiek patys prie to prisidėti. Ir prie tvarkos kiemuose, vaikų aikštelėse, parkuojant automobilį ir net mąstant, kokia gi galėtų būti mūsų “Jūros šventė”. Būkite aktyvūs, ateikite į mūsų renginius ir prisidėkite nors truputį, nors savo vieša nuomone.
Taigi mūsų Jūros šventė jau atėjo, laivai švartuojasi. Kaip mes pasitiksime juos, ar būsime svetingi? Ar pabėgsime iš savo miesto, kai bus daug svečių? Gal nevertėtų, juk bus taip gražu. Vien jau tai, kad atplaukia didžiausias pasaulyje burlaivis, verta jį pamatyti. Susitiksime gatvės šurmulyje, geros jums šventės.
